APPROPRIATIONS – SECRETARY OF STATE – Relates to the appropriation to the Office of the Secretary of State for fiscal years 2023 and 2024.

This is the FY 2024 original appropriation bill for the Secretary of State. It appropriates a total of $14,764,600 and caps the number of authorized full-time equivalent positions at 35.50. The bill funds eight line items. Line item 2 provides cybersecurity software; line item 3 provides 1.00 FTP for a customer service representative for business filings; line item 4 provides 1.00 FTP for a voting system specialist; line item 5 provides 1.00 FTP for a campaign finance specialist; line item 6 provides 1.00 FTP for a lobbyist specialist; line item 7 provides 0.50 FTP for a land board liaison; line item 9 provides for publication of the Idaho Blue Book; and line item 12 provides for an elections system upgrade. Also included is a FY 2023 supplemental appropriation of $81,400 and authorization of an additional 2.00 FTP to allow the office to hire three new staff - an executive assistant, elections data scientist, and elections education coordinator.
