SENATE BILL 1256
Elected officials, convictions
ELECTED OFFICIALS – Adds to existing law to establish provisions for disqualification of elected officials convicted of certain crimes.
RS30952 / S1256
The elected officials of the State of Idaho must maintain public trust. This trust is crucial for our republic to function. When an official breaks criminal law, the public trust is lost.
There is no fiscal impact to the State of Idaho. This only precludes an individual from running for elective office. This will not affect the current term the person was originally elected for.
