Law
Public contracts, boycotts
STATE GOVERNMENT – Adds to existing law to prohibit public entities from entering into contracts with entities that boycott certain industry sectors.

RS31213 / S1291

This legislation prohibits public contracts with companies that are boycotting certain industries. It defines the industries included and offers an exemption. The provisions of this legislation shall not apply to contracts with a total potential value of less than one hundred thousand dollars or to contractors with fewer than ten employees.

This legislation causes no additional expenditure of funds at the state or local level of government nor does it cause an increase or decrease in revenue for state or local government, because no contractee with the state currently claims to boycott as prohibited by the bill. Therefore the legislation has no fiscal impact.
