Endowment trust lands
ENDOWMENT TRUST LANDS – Adds to existing law to clarify the duties of the state board of land commissioners in the lease of state endowment trust lands, to require bonds under certain circumstances, and to provide for rulemaking.

This legislation requires the Board of Lands and the Department of Lands to develop policy guidance for leasing activities. Leases must include terms and conditions that ensure sustainable management and stewardship in line with the type of use. Some land use types may require a bond to ensure reclamation and restoration.

This amendment causes no additional expenditure of funds at the state or local level of government, nor does it cause an increase or decrease in revenue for state or local government therefore the legislation has no fiscal impact.
